NMBA is an industry association partner of the NMMA, and works to:
- Ensure retail marine financing is readily available
- Educate both lenders and consumers on the affordability and benefits of marine financing
A network of alliances between lenders, the admiralty law community, marine surveyors, documentation services, the insurance industry and other companies involved in this sector also fosters business.
NMBA members benefit from the “four pillars” of the association:
- Annual Conference: A three-day industry conference where the latest trends and issues relating to the marine finance sector are discussed in detail. This enables members to exchange information with peers in the marine lending industry who work with consumers and the trade.
- Marine Lenders Workshop: This annual event was designed to educate current and prospective lenders on the specialization of this niche lending sector, including underwriting, collateral valuation, lien perfection, collections, remarketing and much more.
- Annual Report/Survey: Working through an independent research entity, the NMBA provides its members, and industry, exclusive national marine retail and floor plan financing statistics and trends.
- Website: This provides an effective communications tool for all members, and for boating consumers. Find data, news, member listings, newsletters, and more on this site.
NMBA membership is open to banks, savings institutions and financial service firms who are directly involved in marine lending. NMBA also allows associate membership in the organization. NMMA membership is not required. Additional fees apply.
