Charles Chapman Award

The Charles F. Chapman Memorial Award was established in 1977 by the national association of the boating industry and MotorBoating & Sailing magazine in memory of the magazine’s former editor and publisher, who died in March of 1976. It honors individuals or groups within the marine industry who have made outstanding contributions to the sport of boating for the benefit of the recreational boating industry and boating public. The award, presented each year during the Miami International Boat Show, consists of a medallion and one thousand dollars ($1,000) to be donated to a worthy marine-oriented organization of the recipient’s choice.
